CALL FOR PAPERS
Following an outstanding Auditorium Acoustics conference in Athens in 2023, we now return to the UK for the first time since 2002 to host a conference at the restructured and refurbished concert hall in Bristol, newly named Bristol Beacon.
The choice of a transformed 156-year-old hall as our venue is intended to attract papers on the refurbishment and acoustical history of other halls and opera houses and the integration of 21st century presentation equipment, whether it be active electroacoustics systems or visual screens and lighting and how to balance the demands of different styles of concert.
Are these elements shaping typologies beyond the shoebox and vineyard halls?
As a special feature of the conference, a 3D immersive audio system is planned to be installed in “The Lantern”- the Auditorium Acoustics 2025 conference venue. Presenters are invited to illustrate their work with 3D audio demonstrations. Furthermore, a special session on reverberation enhancement (“active acoustics”) is being organised.
For this session, a reverberation processor will be coupled to the 3D audio system to demonstrate the acoustical theory and capabilities of such systems using live musicians. Papers and presentations on the topic of the reverberation enhancement / active acoustics are encouraged for this session
We welcome you to submit papers on these topics as well as related submissions on the subjects of auditorium design and room acoustics
